The Lindell Library - like most academic libraries, uses the Library of Congress classification system to organize our print books. If your eyes have already glossed over - no worries.

Here's a quick reference chart to help you find books by subject.

On the 3rd Floor you'll find:

A - General works (Encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.)

B - Philosophy, Psychology, Religion

C - Auxiliary Sciences of History (Archeology, Archives, Genealogy, etc.)

D - World History (non-Americas)

E - History of the Americas (United States)

F - History of the Americas (Canada, Latin America, etc.)

G - Geography, Anthropology, recreation

H - Social Sciences (Statistics, economics, transportation and communications, commerce, finance, sociology, etc.)

J - Political Science

 

On the lower level you'll find: 

K - Law

L - Education

M - Music, books on Music, Scores

N - Fine Arts

O - Oversize books 

P - Language & Literature

Q - Science (Math, physics, chemistry, geology, botany, biology, human anatomy, microbiology)

R - Medicine (Pathology, internal medicine, surgery, pharmacology, nursing, etc.)

S - Agriculture

T - Technology

U - Military Science

V - Naval Science

Z - Bibliography, Library Science, Information sources
