At the start of each semester, faculty should run through a checklist to ensure their Moodle courses are ready to go. This checklist is not comprehensive, merely a suggestion of things that are sometimes overlooked:

  1.  Have you provided contact information for students? For example: your name, contact information, preferred communication method, expected response times.

  2. Have you checked the accuracy of important dates? For example: major due dates on the syllabus, submission dates and instructions for assignments and assessments.

  3. Are there any spelling or grammatical errors in newly added content?

  4. Do media and images display properly?

  5. Have you checked all the hyperlinks, linked files, and videos? Make sure that you open all external website links and links to library resources to ensure that everything works.

  6. Have you given your students guidelines or expectations for the use of discussion forums or other collaborative tools?

  7. Have you published your course and made it available to students?
